Future Event 2012: Tuscany

Tuscany Workshop and Congress 

23-25 April 2012

Our spring workshop will be held in the stunning setting of Castello di Meleto which is located in Gaiole in Chianti in the heart of the Tuscan hills.

Digital expert, Guy Levine, MD Return on Digital will brief on the latest technological developments with insights on how to exploit them. Marketing specialist, Simon Dodd, Digger Agency will focus on building relationships with customers using multiple media. Member presentations will focus on customer relationship management. Our 2012 Congress will elect a new chairman and committee and discuss strategic issues for the future of the IWCA.

Exciting extra workshop activities include a Tuscan cookery class, Chianti winery visits, a tour of Sienna and dinner at the world renowned Officina della Bistecca.

Hong Kong and China: Fact Finding Mission 15-22 October 2012

Objective: To give participants a clear insight and understanding of the key aspects of this fast changing market through market visits, seminars and discussions with the key players, local and foreign.

Mission: To cover the following elements with analysis of the current situation and future projections:

  • Consumption and the consumer
  • Production – Chinese and foreign facilities

  • Market – local and imports

Past Event: 2011 South Africa

South Africa Experience November 2011

Module 1: Workshop 8-9 November

Our South African workshop was held in the exotic, exciting and luxurious surroundings of the Lions Sands Private Game Reserve which forms part of the greater Kruger National Park. The reserve was a short hop by plane from Johannesburg airport to Skukusa. Morning and evening game drives top and tailed the 2-day workshop programme which included the topics of telesales and telemarketing, digital media and sustainability.

Module 2: Wine lands visit, Cape Town 10-12 November 2011

We organised a select tour of winery visits/tastings and meals in the stunning regions of Stellenbosch and Hermanus Bay ensuring that were up to speed with the latest developments in the South African wine scene.

Past Event: 2011 Barcelona

Barcelona 6-8 April 2011

This event began with an exclusive day with one of the wine world’s leading personalities, Miguel Torres. Miguel gave us a unique insight into his views on the environment and sustainability issues as well as detailing the projects the Torres Group is involved in. The workshop included a morning session led by social media specialists, LDR London and Globally looking at the potential of new media as part of your overall communication strategy with case studies and ‘build a campaign’ breakout groups. Guest speaker and renowned wine writer and commentator, Robert Joseph took a look at consumer attitudes and QR codes whilst and specialist blogger and online marketer, Ryan Opaz, Catavino focussed on brand building via digital media.

Past Event: 2010 New York

New York 18-21 October 2010

Our workshop in New York concentrated on one-to-one marketing - How to build multi-channel campaigns to communicate directly with your customers as unique individuals with the objective of building loyalty and increasing sales. Keynote speakers included Kristine Van Dillen, GEM Strategy who addressed the issue of mobile marketing innovations, Sherry Scapperotti, Plus Media who talked about insert media and Doug Steinberg, Thread Marketing who focussed on social media communications.
