<p><strong>23-25 April 2012</strong></p>
<p>Our spring workshop was&nbsp;held in the stunning setting of <a href="http://www.castellomeleto.it/">Castello di Meleto</a> which is located in Gaiole in Chianti in the heart of the Tuscan hills.</p>
<p>Digital expert, Guy Levine, <a href="http://www.returnondigital.com/">Return on Digital</a>&nbsp;briefed on the latest technological developments with insights on how to exploit them. Marketing specialist, Simon Dodd, <a href="http://www.diggeragency.com/">Digger Agency</a>&nbsp;focused on building relationships with customers using multiple media.</p>
<p>Our 2012 General Assembly elected a new chairman and committee   and discussed strategic issues for the future of the IWCA. Exciting extra workshop activities included Chianti winery visits,   contemporary art at Castello di Ama, a tour of Sienna and dinner at the   world renowned <a href="http://www.dariocecchini.com/officina_della_bistecca.html">Officina della Bistecca</a>.</p>

<p><strong> Module 1: Workshop 8-9 November </strong></p>
<p>Our South African workshop was held in the exotic, exciting and luxurious surroundings of the Lions Sands Private Game Reserve which forms part of the greater Kruger National Park. The reserve was a short hop by plane from Johannesburg airport to Skukusa.  Morning and evening game drives top and tailed the 2-day workshop programme which included the topics of telesales and telemarketing, digital media and sustainability.</p>
<p><strong> Module 2: Wine lands visit, Cape Town 10-12 November 2011 </strong></p>
<p>We organised a select tour of winery visits/tastings and meals in the stunning regions of Stellenbosch and Hermanus Bay ensuring that were up to speed with the latest developments in the South African wine scene.</p>

<p>This event began with an exclusive day with one of the wine world&rsquo;s leading personalities, Miguel Torres. Miguel gave us a unique insight into his views on the environment and sustainability issues as well as detailing the projects the <a href="http://www.torres.es/">Torres Group</a> is involved in. The workshop included a morning session led by social media specialists, LDR London and Globally looking at the potential of new media as part of your overall communication strategy with case studies and &lsquo;build a campaign&rsquo; breakout groups.  Guest speaker and renowned wine writer and commentator,<a href="http://www.robertjoseph-onwine.com/"> Robert Joseph</a> took a look at consumer attitudes and QR codes whilst and specialist blogger and online marketer, <a href="http://www.ryanopaz.com">Ryan Opaz,</a> Catavino focussed on brand building via digital media.</p>

<p>Our workshop in Reims focussed on 'The Implementation and Optimisation of Multi-Media Marketing Strategies'. A select group of international experts presented on the latest key developments in digital media, including social media and direct marketing communication channels. They included <a href="http://www.brsgroup.com/index.html">Marc Engel</a>, Partner and Director of Wine Practice, B/R/S Group, <a href="http://www.vintank.com/about-vintank/the-team/paul-mabray/">Paul Mabray</a>, Chief Strategy Officer, VinTank and <a href="http://www.maxusglobal.co.uk/en">James Jennings</a>, Partner at Maxus Global. President of <a href="http://www.aquarelle.com">Aquarelle</a>, Henri de Maublanc talked about the company&rsquo;s shift from bricks and mortar to internet operations. In addition, IWCA members presented their latest marketing activities, recruitment and loyalty schemes.</p>

Overview of the world wine market with a focus on emerging markets by internationally renowned wine writer and consultant, Robert Joseph. Guest tours and vineyard visits with some of Austria's outstanding young winemakers.</p>
