Wijnkoperij Okhuysen is one of the best-known suppliers of premium wine in the Netherlands and has a history dating back to 1867. We can divide our customers into four segments, private clients, the NRC-Wine Club, trade and other businesses.
We have a team of well trained professionals in our office and on the road to advise our clients with a special focus on ‘wine and food’. All of our sales staff have passed at least WSET Advanced Level or a Dutch equivalent.
We work with more than 300 small independent wineries from traditional wine countries and can therefore offer our clients a wide range of exclusive wines. We are proud of having discovered Mas de Daumas Gassac, the only ‘Cru’ from the Languedoc, Château de Pibarnon in Bandol, Domaine Roches Neuves in Saumur-Champigny and Caiarossa in Tuscany.
Private Clients
We offer our clients a small range of full-colour magazines. ‘Vinée Vineuse’ is the most important magazine which is sent out to all our clients four times a year and consists of articles about wineries, wine regions or special events. ‘Okhuysen Special’ primarily focuses on special offers. As well as these two magazines we have ‘En Primeur’ (Pre-Sale) offers for Bordeaux, Rhône and Burgundy. Almost every month our clients receive one of these publications.
NRC Wine Club
Together with the daily newspaper NRC Handelsblad we have set up a special wine club. A magazine with wine offers, events and wine editorials is sent out by direct mail to the members and advertisements appear in the newspaper at least once a week. The NRC Wine Club was founded in 2007 and has almost 10.000 members at present. People become member of the club automatically after their first purchase.
On and Off-trade
We also supply our wines to top restaurants, specialised wine bars and local fine wine shops. We not only offer them our wines, but also supply our trade customers with a service package which includes a personal account manager, 24-hour delivery, complete product information, tastings and training sessions for their staff.
